The brand shoot was one of the styled sessions during the Makawalu Workshop, featuring Hawai‘i-based brands including Kris Hawaiʻi, Aloha Collection, and Midori Bikinis. What made this shoot especially meaningful to me was how naturally it blended storytelling, connection, and intentional branding — the same elements I value most in all of my work today.

There’s something special about documenting brands in a way that feels lived-in and genuine rather than overly curated. From movement and texture to the connection between the models and the environment, this session felt less like a traditional “brand shoot” and more like capturing a lifestyle people could truly see themselves in.

At the time, stepping into branding photography felt like a creative leap, but looking back now, it makes so much sense. Before photography, I spent years in front of the camera modeling for brands like Sand Cloud and Ivory Ella, so being able to transition into documenting brands from behind the lens has given me a deeper understanding of both storytelling and connection-driven marketing.

Today, I’m even more inspired by working with brands that value authenticity, intentionality, and human connection — creating imagery that not only showcases a product, but also the feeling and lifestyle behind it.
